Preventing relapse
No medication on its own is a magic answer to opiate dependence. Careful planning and support are very important in preparing for a drug-free life. This support may include help with work or education, rebuilding family relationships or even someone reminding you to take your medication every day. Opizone (naltrexone) is only effective while you are taking it and forgetting to take it or deciding to stop before you are ready may leave you vulnerable to relapse.
